DESIGN PHILOSOPHY: My home's style says a lot about who I am, and therefore, I approach the design process with authenticity, originality, and an accurate reflection of who occupies the space.

I am not shocked when I enter a house with a bland laundry room. Trust me; I am SO over it already. Its sole purpose is to sort, wash, dry, and fold. People who see it as just a room must realize it is a significant area in a home. I cannot stress enough how important every inch of an interior is, whether big or small. It should function for the intended purpose, be aesthetically appealing, and reflect who occupies the space. Authenticity and originality are essential elements. Below are three questions to ponder if there is a need to tackle this area.

What does your laundry room say about you?
How do you feel when you walk into your laundry room?
Does it have color, artwork, ample storage (if there is no adjacent storage closet), and the appropriate lighting/light fixture?

There are many questions, but I made my point. With that said, check out my dramatic laundry room. Why do I feel like I need a raspberry smoothie right about now? Also, I answered the three questions above. Glance below and see if we are on the same page.

What does my laundry room say about me? It screams bold, daring, dramatic, fun, and colorful, and the most crucial aspect reflects who I am.
How do I feel when I walk into my laundry room? Happy, Energetic, and Energized. I keep this area clean and clutter-free because I would rather see my beautifully styled space.
Does it have color, artwork, ample storage (if there is no adjacent storage closet), and the appropriate lighting/light fixture? Heck YES! The decorative coating on the wall is called Raspberry Fizz. It is the perfect backdrop and subtly contrasts the artwork's color palette. However, white appliances are a definite no-no for me, but the main reason why I chose them is that they stand out more against the interior walls. I achieved the look that I had envisioned. I removed the shelving because of the oversized adjacent storage closet. Talk about a sexy chandelier. Geesh, it is what pulled everything together. It is enormously detailed and gives way to a ton of artificial light.
My doggie is not a part of the project. Ace, my little cutie, runs through the house as if he owns it, and he also seems to think the artwork is strictly for him. And he is correct. Ace and my other baby boy, Stitch (who died of cancer on Valentine's Day, 2018), inspired this accent piece because they could never get along.

Overall, each item complements and reflects my style. Yet, for some reason, this door is never closed, and every time I walk by, I smile because that is precisely how each room in my home makes me feel.

I applied the Raspberry Fizz interior paint and created a textured look. The contrast of the dominant backdrop against the Possini Euro white flower chandelier is stunning!
