DESIGN PROJECT: CORGI DRIVE RESIDENCE

PROJECT GOAL: Incorporate the clients' favorite colors

PROJECT OUTCOME: The subtle interior wall colors create the perfect contrast, creating a warm and inviting atmosphere. The clients are incredibly pleased with their stylish living room.

At KCL-IDESIGN, LLC, there is always a decorative coating about to be splashed on something, and yes, as the principal designer, I get to splash, splash, and splash! However, I needed a color palette for this room that would be statement-making while creating subtle contrast. During the consultation, the client mentioned specific colors several times. I always aim to provide clients with what they desire and envision, and I understand the importance of incorporating an occupant's style. So, I did that precisely because it is always about the client.

The standing ovation goes to green and orange for the interior walls. There are over a million swatches and paint chips to choose from for both. Moreover, for each, I had to find the perfect shade. It was beyond fun and exciting, and I was ready to revamp the bland living room. With limited space, I kept the fireplace as the focal point, and the original furniture arrangement stayed the same. Blocking the downstairs foyer, bedroom, and kitchen entrance was not an option, and all pathways needed to remain open for easy access and maneuvering.

Furthermore, with the color palette and furniture placement solidified, it was time to create a different living room. The transforming after-effects of working with the existing furniture, layout, and limited space are beyond exciting!
