Travel Destination: New Orleans
Here I come, NOLA!
Yikes, I am at it again! Yes – it has been too long, and it is time for another trip, and not just any trip. OMG, the ultimate GIRLS TRIP! I have been working a lot, and I have not had time to get my travel agenda together as I usually do, but that is about to change. I know for a chick that enjoys different cultures and mainly going out of the country, there is nothing like a fresh breather for the soul. With that said, I am on my way to New Orleans for the 25th Essence Festival. OMG, OMG, and OMG – I am so beyond excited because even though I have been to this fantastic city, and I promise it is the best place to visit for fun, parties, events, and culture, I have never been to the Essence Festival. However, starting on July 4th, which is today, all that is about to change!
I will officially arrive in New Orleans at approximately 7:50 PM.
First stop will be at Le Pavillon Hotel to check-in and get ready for the Fire & Ice Essence Festival 25th Anniversary Kick-Off Party!
Okay, let me clear one thing up! When my girlfriends and I went to see the movie Girls Trip, EACH ONE had to let me know beforehand which girl from the movie is me. Primarily, Norma J. Hicks, who is known for trying to be everybody’s mother. So, I guess that makes her THE MOM, and I confess - Yes, I am THE WILD ONE! As if I didn’t already know. I get it, and I got it. Geesh!
However, before the Ultimate Girls Trip starts, a quick run-down because I hear this is one of the largest annual celebrations in the Black culture, which includes film, television, beauty, fashion, community, activism, politics, and so much more. How in the hell have I missed this for so long? Also, I here Loni Love is hosting, and the lineup is extraordinarily incredible! Well, I would prefer to see Chris Brown on the list, but I will hush and be grateful because there will be more than 80 artists who will make their presence across the Main Stage or Super Lounges.
So, I guess I will be okay even though my favorite male artist will not be one of this year’s performers.
Moreover, I hear that Michelle Obama will be on the main stage at 6 PM in the Superdome on Saturday – July 6th, 2019
