DESIGN PHILOSOPHY: My home's style says a lot about who I am, and therefore, I approach the design process with authenticity, originality, and an accurate reflection of who occupies the space.

It is inspiring to reminisce about the rooms in my home that I styled some time ago. I get wildly agitated if I cannot continually rearrange and change decorative objects, artwork, lighting, and paint interior walls. However, sometimes, I do a complete overhaul of the entire space. As a designer, I love changing things because it brings my surroundings back to life. Moreover, it is no different from regularly changing my clothing style; therefore, the same applies to the need to revamp and bring interiors back to life. The photos below are the third of six updates for my living room.

At the time, I aimed to create a simple area for entertaining and conversation, watching TV, or needing a cozy spot while working on my laptop. I incorporated specific objects because I need them in my surroundings, as they are incredibly beneficial. Greenery is significant to me because it brings the outdoors inside and adds character and appeal. Of course, various lighting is essential; therefore, adding a stylish floor lamp did the trick. The dominant shag area rug, statement-making accent pillows, and unique décor brought a bold pop of color. The window coverings allow ample sunlight to permeate the entire space. Also, furniture is essential; for me, it must be functional, comfortable, and aesthetically pleasing.

Lastly, my love for anything that stands out will always take center stage. If you keep up with my posts, you already know I have many Buddha heads throughout my home. I always incorporate them; in this space, they are hung diagonally on the most massive wall. By the way, the wall is a mixture of paint and sand. Trust me; it is stunning in person. It took forever, but it is the focal point of the entire room. The photos below show decorative details I hope will inspire.
