DETAILED AND DOMINANT: OVER-SIZED DECORATIVE MIRRORS

I hope that it is not just me when it comes to being obsessed with over-sized mirrors because, in some of my rooms, I have more than one. With that said, to the ones who already know me, yes – you already know that I adore looking at myself, but for the ones who do not know me, you now know the main reason. However, I will add additional information to clarify – regardless if I am beyond obsessed with these beauties, I like that mirrors can be placed anywhere and in any room. Now, some would say, except for a kitchen, but it is not an exception because no design rule states this, so remember – it is all about personal preference.

When I refer to over-sized, I mean from floor-to-ceiling, at door height, can lean against a wall, one that will dominate a wall or when placed above a fireplace mantle. What I adore so much about these decorative beauties, is the fact that they can go behind a console table, in hallway, foyer, bathroom, closet, above a fireplace, attached to a ceiling, headboard – or basically in any room to capture the view of a well-designed space. The three main characteristics that mirrors have for me is the fact that they can lighten a room, give way to the illusion of a larger area, and what can I say, they are beyond timeless. So, no matter how styles change when dealing with the interior design world, mirrors will continue to fit within any style or era.

Design Tip: When incorporating a variety of mirrors throughout different rooms, go outside the typical aspects of design, and get crazy creative because this is what makes for an amazingly significant wow factor!

HOME OFFICE DESIGN: CREATIVE/INSPIRATIONAL HAVEN

When it comes to indulging in my creativeness, there is nothing more inspiring like a change in scenery, and believe me, I am all kudos to opting for more than one office space. Deciding on which one to use, depends on my mood. With that said, each one is creative and becomes my inspirational haven. Regardless of which one I decide to work in, all reflect who I am as a person, creative guru, interior designer, entrepreneur, and businesswoman. Each of my well-designed office spaces complements me on a variety of levels. They not only represent who I am, but what I was born to do, and that is changing people’s lives through aesthetically pleasing and functional interiors. It is so beyond fantastic because sometimes when I go in my office and sit at my desk, I do absolutely nothing for a moment, but breathe as I give thanks to the most impressive designer, and creator ever – God!

However, as I look around, I see objects that indeed reflects my character. So, what does your home office say about you, who you are, and what you represent? As a designer, I am known for my bold and over-the-top color palettes. You better believe that my offices are bursting with vivid color, which can be seen by way of the interior walls, furniture, window coverings, artwork, and even down to the simplest decorative objects. Moreover, I cannot preach enough that rooms should always reflect an individual’s style.

Design Tip: Whether, going for a specific style such as Minimalism, Bohemian, Modern, industrial, Scandinavian, Traditional, Contemporary, Classic, or whatever the case may be, make it realistic.

Furthermore, get crazy creative and use sexy black furniture combined with brass accents. Also, use open shelving, along with graphic fabrics, which can conceal unnecessary objects, or go exotic because there are many ways to incorporate a personal style to make a home office become not only creative but an inspirational haven.

INTERIOR INSPIRATION: GETTING GRAPHIC

When it comes to making a statement by way of interior walls, I usually enjoy splashing my favorite decorative coating, which most people already know is paint, but I am also a super-huge fan of implementing graphics as well. Graphics are a cool way to spice of any room that is considered boring, bland or just Ugh! Even though they can be custom made, which is still relatively easy to apply, or by using dominant wallpaper, either one can create a beautiful and contrasting effect.

Below, each wallpaper has essential details that leave an immediate impact within each room. With that said, I am impressed when there is a backdrop to bring objects within a space cohesively together. However, I am obsessed with the drama behind anything detailed, will enhance, and give way to an intricate, but yet a bold wow factor!

Moreover, being a chick who admires extreme colors, when using a type of decorative feature such as wallpaper, it will do the trick when a client prefers wallpaper instead of paint.
