INTERIOR DESIGN SERIES: CONSOLE TABLE OBSESSION – EPISODE 2, VIDEO 2 OF 7

To recap, from the first video several weeks ago, remember that the goal is to keep your favorite console table and update the decorative objects. The change of season is an excellent time to rediscover a new look. Even though I do it more often, that is just me. Here is another stylish look with the same console table. If you need new decorative objects, go shopping, have fun, and create a beautiful, statement-making focal point. Trust me when I say the possibilities are beyond endless.

I incorporate versatile, functional furniture into interiors. I love to see character, appeal, style, intricate details, and the majority, if not all, of the elements and principles of design. And there must be a wow factor, even if it is subtle. Again, I am incredibly excited to introduce a seven-part series called 'Console Table Obsession,' which will be exciting! The idea came about because I have several beauties (console tables) in different rooms, but I have one favorite. I tend to change the décor because I hate to look at the same scenery. I love books, Buddha heads, and distinctive table lamps, so I always appreciate their display.

I remind my clients to switch out their décor because, when they don't, the room becomes dated. However, this series will feature one console table with various decorative elements, without replacing the main furniture piece (remember, the console table will stay in place). Trust me; it does not have to be expensive. I prefer to shop for unique items, but I also take items from other rooms, so each room stays up to date.

It is funny because while getting my Bachelor of Science in Interior Design, I became even more fascinated with furniture design. So now, more than ever, I make sure that what I bring into my interior surroundings are essential pieces that are functional and aesthetically pleasing. Besides, I prefer highlighting objects I enjoy looking at daily.

Design Tips:

  • Use books to add height variations.

  • Place décor pieces on top of books (layered effect).

  • Combine various colors to create a contrast.

  • Adding texture is a must; remember to add some stylish table lamps. There is nothing more exciting than showing off a well-dressed console table.

STEPS:

  1. Favorite console table

  2. Incorporate a trunk for a pop of color

  3. Stylish table lamps

  4. Books (must-have)

  5. Collect and display unique decorative objects

  6. Add the finishing touch with a decorative throw

Knowledgeable Notation: The purpose of a console table was to be fixed to a wall and supported only by front legs. It was developed in the late 17th century and became popular throughout the 18th century.

Check back for video 3, which features the existing console table with a different look, vibe, and style.
