INTERIOR DESIGN SERIES: CONSOLE TABLE OBSESSION – EPISODE 3, VIDEO 3 OF 7

It is a New Year, and I am back with my INTERIOR DESIGN SERIES: CONSOLE TABLE OBSESSION. Of course, I had to pause to work on several design projects, but I am back with video three. Besides, there is nothing quite like a bit of anticipation in interior design. So, with that said, the third episode is more for neutral lovers who require only a splash of color.

As a designer, I must know every design style, which might eliminate certain elements. In doing so, I cannot forget the people who prefer not to display color, regardless of whether it is just a tiny splash. For whatever reason one may have for not incorporating color, neutrals can still be stylish.

For the neutral lovers who prefer a splash of color, this post is for you!

When styling a console table, I start with a clean slate. I play around with different objects, infusing colors, heights, textures, etc., to see what is aesthetically pleasing to my eyes. I love books, Buddha heads, oversized vases, and distinctive table lamps, so I never tire of their display.

However, I purchase several unique items and sometimes remove other decorative pieces from another room if they enhance the arrangement. I experiment with various arrangements, ensuring each piece complements the overall setup. Moreover, this setup was simple because I wanted a minimalistic vibe.

The goal is to craft a visually stunning console table arrangement that reflects authentic style and showcases originality.

For this console table, I used orange to complement the neutral palette of beige and brown. It turned out beautifully, creating a striking contrast.

DESIGN TIP: (KEEP THE CONSOLE TABLE/CHANGE OUT THE DÉCOR)

  1. Use books to add height variations

  2. Place décor pieces on top

  3. Combine various colors to create a contrast

  4. Adding texture is a must; don't forget to add some stylish table lamps. There is nothing more exciting than showing off a well-dressed console table

STEPS:

  • Favorite console table

  • Incorporate a trunk for a pop of color

  • Stylish table lamps

  • Books (must-have)

  • Collect & display unique decorative objects

  • Add the finishing touch with a decorative throw and accent pillows

Knowledgeable Notation: The purpose of a console table was to be fixed to a wall and supported only by front legs. It was developed in the late 17th century and became popular throughout the 18th century.

Check back for video 4, which features the existing console table but with a different look, vibe, and style.
