When it comes to detailed, dominant, and statement-making pieces, accent chairs are first on my list. Here is why? Imagine a too-neutral room that has no enhancement, nothing that gives way to a unique wow factor, and not an ounce of color – just blah! However, by incorporating one or two bold and daring accent chairs, this can create a contrast and focus, which will enhance the overall room. Also, not only will it add the necessary character and appeal, but it will become the perfect complement to all objects within the space.

It is truly beyond amazing to see how an additional piece, as with a chair, can instantly transform a room and the original color palette. Trust me – it will change the entire vibe and atmosphere.

Moreover, it is not shocking at all because these beauties are always making headlines when it comes to decor. I love to use them as a solution in an awkward corner, perched by a fireplace, or symmetrically as a pair because I know that when decorating with this type of accent piece, the possibilities are endless. Whether swivel, tub, barrel, slipper, wing-back, or a host of other uniquely designed accent chairs, the different styles, pattern, texture, form, shape, or extreme color is where the drama will play a significant role. I tend to incorporate them throughout my home, and when I am transforming spaces for clients.

Design Tip: Accent chairs can be in any room, and please do not forget about specific areas such as foyers, hallways, and bathrooms because this is where the style should genuinely become enforced.

She has been slaying interiors since forever and refuses to be known as the norm when transforming spaces. The motivating words – I dare you – keeps her motivated and overcharged. Her passion for interior design comes from a deeply rooted philosophy, which is – designing from within; from the soul, and it is always about living, breathing, and loving interior design!

She lives accordingly by her motto: I live – breathe – love interior design.
