BATHROOM DESIGN: THE ULTIMATE BATHTUB

Is it me or are bathtubs sexier than ever? Every time I see a unique one that hits the market, I want to switch out. Even as a youngster until now, I prefer a good soak before my bath, which consists of super-hot water loaded with a combination of gigantic bubbles with Philosophy Caramel Candies and Butterscotch Candy, Ahava Mineral Sea Salt, and my favorite Victoria’s Secret body wash, Red Plum & Freesia. My relaxation tool is my Gold Beats Solo³ Wireless by Dre, and when I turn them on, the first song playing is probably going to be Trey Songz – Chi Chi (feat. Chris Brown). So, I inhale–exhale and block the world entirely out.

With that said, I know for me, after a long day, which can include an agenda that never ends, my bathroom becomes my place of serenity. It is my get-a-way retreat that helps me to regroup. So, combining a stylish look and the possibilities of having a personal in-home spa with the ultimate bathtub is well within reach. Moreover, when dealing with clients, I make sure that they understand their options, along with specific therapeutic necessities that will benefit more on a personal level. Also, when it comes to getting in and out of these beautiful beauties – functionality is vital.

Designer Tip: If you prefer a warm and soothing bath with Micro-bubbles, which detoxifies the overall body, or a powerful deep-penetrating massage of combined air and water, there are unlimited options on the market.

Whether deciding from fiberglass, porcelain on steel, acrylic, cast iron, solid-surface materials, cultured marble, ceramic, stone, or wood – the choice to find the ultimate bathtub should be easy breezy!

BEDROOM DESIGN: STYLISH STATEMENT WALLS

Okay, first, let me start by saying that I am an overly obsessed chick when it comes to statement walls. Regardless of where it is displayed, it can create the perfect backdrop. However, when it comes to a bedroom, not just any statement wall will do. For me, the bedroom is considered the ultimate sanctuary. Once I open the door, everything that has weighed me down throughout the day such as hectic meetings, long day with clients, finishing up never-ending paperwork, photo-shoots, chasing after my two baby boys who are beyond spoiled brats Stitch and Ace (Boston Terriers), or whatever the case may be, it is all dropped and left on the outside.

Moreover, once the door closes behind me, I inhale, exhale, relax, and become at ease. I also tend to smile because this is what great design will do. Trust me! Especially when there is an immediate attention grabber. Furthermore, bedrooms should be a serene get-a-way space, and they should capture the exact style of the occupants. Incorporating a unique feature such as a statement wall, this will accent and complement the other elements within the room, as well as bring the overall design scheme together cohesively.

Design Tip: Also, remember a statement wall can be whatever your heart so desires. So, get crazy creative with it!

As an interior designer, I do have a hypothetical question? If today is the only day that you have to make a change and add the ultimate statement wall in your bedroom, what would you incorporate to bring your space together cohesively to create a genuinely well-designed space?

BATHROOM DESIGN: DESIGNING WITH CIRCULAR MIRRORS

Currently, I am going hysterically crazy over circular mirrors in bathrooms. With that said, do not get it twisted, I will never take anything away from other shapes, but for right now, I am loving the roundness because it is simple, and not the typical four corners, which is considered the norm in bathrooms. When I circular instead, there is a different vibe transcending throughout the space. It is as if they give way to stylish drama with a new and profound aspect. Also, without having the sharp edges, there is more wall space shown, and if beautiful wallpaper or bold color is the backdrop, this is a definite bonus.

In my bathroom suite, I removed the over-sized triangular mirror that took up much of the wall. I have decided to go another route. I would like to see a range of circular mirrors in different sizes, which I know is going to be beyond gorgeous! However, I am marinating on what direction I will go as far as the overall layout. I am also waiting for my creative juices to give me the perfect aesthetically pleasing vibe that I want to feature throughout the space. Moreover, in the meantime, I came across several powder/bathrooms that are featuring my new-found love of circular mirrors, and they are packing a powerful punch!

So, how gorgeous are these bathrooms? My opinion, they are all beyond gorgeously impressive. From circular theme details, a perfect backdrop featuring blue, furniture-like cabinets, unique flooring dressed in materials such as travertine tile and concrete, and the use of vibrant hues screaming electric red and psychedelic orange. Regardless, each is well-designed and displays character, along with a unique wow factor.
