ARCHITECTURAL DETAIL: INCORPORATING EXPOSED DUCT-WORK

When it comes to interiors, I will never be a fan of anything ordinary or the norm because I see it as dull or lacking interest. However, a detail that is far from the normal, and that is exposed duct-work. I remember when this was considered an eyesore, and a no-no as far as being seen. OMG – for me, it was love at first sight. I was impressed and blown away by the look. Whether residential or commercial, it has always been considered amazingly beautiful! With that said, this is the perfect focal point that can add personality, character, and create a unique wow factor.

It should not be unexposed behind walls and in crawl spaces. There are way too many smart and creative design solutions that can be done with such a great architectural detail when dealing with layouts to make it become a part of the overall interior. Also, exposed duct-work has become a significant part of interiors, and it does not only have to perform great, but it can also look aesthetically amazing! So, whether using copper or steel pipes to make a compelling statement or bold colored pipes to stand out in an interior, there are countless ways to make exposed duck-work super chic in any space.

Keep in mind: It does not matter if one is going for industrial, modern, contemporary, transitional, or another style, by adding what I always call the perfect architectural detail can make a world of difference within any space.

Her extraordinary obsessed passion for interior design comes from a deeply rooted philosophy, which is designing from within; from the soul, and it is always about living, breathing, and loving interior design!

Kimberly is addicted to chocolate, obsessed shopaholic, laughs hysterically just because, global traveler, football-crazed chick, head-over-heels in love with modernism, and is always inspired by the not so beautiful objects.
