Is the weekend over already? Geesh – it seems as if it was just Friday. Regardless, I am ready to grind. For the past couple of weeks, I have been preparing for an interior photoshoot. I am indeed beyond excited because this is not just any photoshoot. Finally, I get to share what I come home to every day. I get to show the personality of each room drowning with a mixture of different styles, unique decorative objects from my travels, patterns, textures, decorative coatings done in bold colors, and a host of other intricate details and elements that define a well-designed space.

However, this past weekend, I was rearranging some furniture, and I noticed that I must have a massive crush on statues. OMG, I didn't realize that I had so many, and how over-sized they are. For some reason, I especially like floor statues in hallways. They tend to add character, timeless appeal, and they can truly define the area. Buddhas are my favorite. I have several, and I think they are overly detailed and beyond beautiful. Moreover, sculptural pieces can be in any room, but when trying to figure out where to display boldly, don't take for granted a non-used area.

Hallways are sometimes abandoned and left bland because they are known more for passageways or maneuvering through to other areas. Go above and beyond and think outside the box and make a decorative statement.

Design Tip: When designing a space, make sure to include a statue. It is an absolute must-have. Whether placing atop a console table, positioned in a corner, or incorporated uniquely within a specific area, these types of details are what makes a room come alive. It is what creates a great atmosphere and gives way to a wow factor.
