Happy Monday! And here goes to a quick rundown on what has been happening in the life of Kimberly C. Lyons the founding owner of KCL-IDESIGN, LLC. As an interior designer, I went through a major transformation on how to successfully prioritize my life along with my business. During my transformation, I had to re-evaluate and make some decisions as well as changes. Who I am as an interior designer didn’t change because out of everything, I already knew without a shadow of a doubt that I was born to be an interior designer as well as own my own design studio. However, the challenge came more on how I was going to branch out, add more layers, and elevate my overall brand.

As I was transforming, the transitioning was taking place as well. During it all, I did some extensive traveling around this big beautiful globe, which has taken me to some amazing places that I will never forget. I will eventually share my travels in future posts because each one became a part of me through my journey. I must add that during my extensive traveling, one place that helped me through my transformation, as well as my continued transitioning and completely changed my life forever and that was South Africa. OMG. . .   . . .there will never be any words that will describe my experience while in South Africa. When I finally arrived back home which is South Carolina, I felt truly complete as a whole. There has been a complete overhaul and I can say that I am now officially transformed and have transitioned completely and I am where I need to be.

I now see my life as a unique puzzle with each piece firmly in place. And with that said, it’s time for me to get back to expressing how I am so overly obsessed with interior design. Oh, and by the way, I have included just a snippet of inspiration from the eyes of an interior designer while vacationing in South Africa. As stated, there will be more to come on my South Africa trip as well as my extensive travels around the globe in upcoming posts. In the meantime, I will end by saying, now that I am back to blogging, here goes to the start of something truly amazing!

I just had to take a picture with this stylish piece of furniture. Oh, excuse me, I meant with every piece of furniture. I am so moving to South Africa!

While eating in a very stylish restaurant in South Africa, I had to capture this decorative ceiling. The camera didn't exactly capture the true beauty as being in person, but regardless it was beyond amazing!

It was gloomy on this day. However, nothing could mess up my stay at Da Vinci Hotel and Suites located in Nelson Mandela Square.

Pampered with a dose of chocolate and a warm & cozy robe.

The combination of black and white made a powerful statement throughout Nelson Mandela's Hotel. As each one was the perfect complement to the other. White as the backdrop and black added weight and the necessary dramatic details. Screaming #wowfactor!

Another great combination featuring black and white.

Fabulous. . .   . . .stylish. . .   . . .wow factor. . .   . . .drama!

Entrance leading into the Da Vinci Hotel and Suites on Nelson Mandela Square. If only I could have taken the chandelier with me :(

So, while I was stuffing my face yet again, I looked up and all I could say was, where is my camera? I had to capture another beautiful ceiling.

Yikes! Is this the end? I was just starting to enjoy my trip all over again. Anyway, don't forget to check back to see more inspirational images from South Africa through the eyes of an interior designer in upcoming posts.
